Delaware County is located in east central Indiana 45 miles north east of Indianapolis. The population of Delaware County is 120,000 and Muncie serves as the county seat which has a population of 68,000. Ball State University is located in Muncie and has a student population of 18,000. Our residents and visitors work and play in East Central Indiana, so our efforts for creating jobs and attracting business must also operate in a regional area as well. Delaware County must work with our neighbors in a cooperative effort. Bringing businesses to the area will help all of us.

 

Delaware County has an important social and economic position in east central Indiana. We serve as the largest community in the area. We are the center for shopping, employment and the arts. We will continue to work with the City and other counties to continue to improve and grow our community. The Commissioners look forward to the challenges that are part of moving Delaware County forward. We welcome the input and assistance of everyone in the county to help us stay on the proper path.
