Discover Delaware County - an east central Indiana community of opportunity

The Delaware County Council does not at present have written rules for its organization and the conduct of its business. There are, however, many customs and practices that are not memorialized. The goal is to adopt best-governing practices to inform future Councils, County office holders and department heads, and the public of policies and procedures that will guide the decision-making process.

Each of the following are topics that might be addressed in the rules. Some rules will be governed by Indiana state law. Current practices are briefly described. You are invited to react to each topic and suggest what rules you would like for the Council to consider. You will also be asked to suggest additional topics that the rules might address.
