Shannon Henry is a lifelong resident of Delaware County. He and his wife Beth live in Albany and have
four adult children as well as two grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family and his two
dogs.
Shannon has worked for the Town of Albany as a police officer since 1991, serving as the Town Marshall
for the past 12 years. He has volunteered for the Albany Fire Department since 1996 and is currently the
Assistant Fire Chief. He has been a member of the Albany Town Council since October 2005 with his
current term ending in December 2014. Shannon began serving the public in 1985 as a volunteer EMT
for Albany EMS and was employed by Delaware County EMS as an EMT from 1987 through 1991. He
recently served as the Indiana Department of Homeland Security District 6 Commander.
Shannon has served Albany and Delaware County Citizens since 1985. He has received many awards for
his dedicated service including EMT, Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year awards. He received a
Governor’s Award in 1987 and IDHS Directors Service Award in 2011. He was also chosen as the Muncie
Star Press’ “Person of The Year” in 2012.
Shannon plans to work with all elected officials to improve the safety and welfare of the citizens of
Delaware County. He will serve the public with honesty and integrity. Shannon will work hard to deliver
cost effective and collaborative services to enhance and promote the quality of life for the citizens,
businesses and visitors of Delaware County.
