Delaware County, Indiana

The Delaware County Building Commissioner's office issues permits for new builds, additions to existing structures, demolition of structures, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, swimming pools, signs and solar installations for projects that are located in the unincorporated area of Delaware County, Indiana.  There are fees associated with all permits, as well as penalties for non-compliance.  Please contact the office for more information.  General contractors, electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractors working within the unincorporated Delaware County are required to register annually with the office with insurance and bond on file.  

The Delaware County Building Commissioner inspects according to the 2006 International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Fire Code, International Electrical Code, International Plumbing Code, and International Mechanical Code as adopted by the State of Indiana.

The Delaware County Zoning Administrator enforces the Delaware County Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and The Code of the County of Delaware, Indiana.
